Katy Perry, I believe, is one of the best singers in the international music industry. Kathryn Elizabeth Hudson, as well kown as KATY PERRY is an American Singer - song writer and musician. She was born in Santa Barbara, California on the 25th day of October in the year 1984. Since she was born to Christian pastor parents, she grew up listening to gospel music ans sang in church. She began her music career after finishing her freshman year in highschool. Her official mainstream debut album is One of the Boys. Ur So Gay was her first internet single, but she rose to fame with her single I Kissed A Girl. Her single was a commercial success, peaking at number one for seven weeks on the Billboard Hot 100. This single earned her a nomination for Best Female Pop Vocal Performance in the 2009 Grammy Awards. Her debut album reached number nine on the Billboard 200 and has been certified Platinum by the Recording Industry Association of America. She won Best New Act at the 2008 MTV Europe Music Awards and Best International Female Artist at the 2009 BRIT Awards. In Feb. 2009, her single I Kissed A Girl and Hot 'n Cold were certified three-time platinum by Recording Industry Association of America. Her new album was entitled "Teenage Dream" and was realeased on the 24th day of August 2010. Her first single entitled California Girls became a hit, and it took only 4 weeks to reach the number one spot on the Billboard Hot 100.She has announced her own fragrance to be released in autumn of this year, named "Purr". It will come in a cat-shaped bottle, and will be available through Nordstrom stores. She is set to make her film début, starring in the 2011 film The Smurfs, as Smurfette, alongside Neil Patrick Harris, Jonathan Winters, Alan Cumming, and George Lopez and I will definitely watch it.
